Black women and Domestic Violence

This paper attempted to provide a layout of the challenges of Domestic violence (DV) among women of African and African Caribbean origin (henceforth to be referred to as the African community).

The paper looked at critical issues such as causes of Domestic violence within the African community, economic and social effects of DV on women and children living in such a setting and provides a critical analysis of existing services to victims of DV.

The final part of this paper proposed preventative strategies to fortify existing rehabilitative services.
